Government acts to quell Urumqi revenge attacks

A group of residents do their shopping in Limin Lane, Urumqi. The neighborhood was hit by revenge attacks by groups of Han Chinese on Tuesday, July 7. In response to these and similar incidents, the Xinjiang regional government imposed a curfew in the city and deployed troops in a peace line to prevent ethnic clashes.
