Morality police in Ukraine are trying to ban the popular Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob Squarepants due to its "promotion of homosexuality," The Daily Mail reports.

Ukraine's National Expert Commission for Protecting Public Morality has slammed the cartoon as a "real threat to children."

As evidence of the cartoon character's alleged homosexuality, the report states how he regularly holds hands with a pink starfish called Patrick, who is also his best friend.

The report also takes aim at other popular cartoons, including Family Guy, Pokemon, The Simpsons and Teletubbies, for the ideas they portray to children.

该报告涉及的热播卡通片包括《恶搞之家》、《口袋妖怪》、《辛普森一家》以及《天线宝宝》，原因都是因为它们对儿童所宣扬的理念“存在问题”。
