A college student from the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou garnered the top prize of the 2006 Sony Ericsson World View photo competition.

Twenty-two year old Chen Yong won free trips to London and New York with a simple yet sublime photo she shot last summer with her mobile phone.

Entitled "Power Comes from Competition," the photo was snapped on a rainy day and features a tennis ball on the ground over the reflection of people grabbing for a basketball on a court.

It stood out from over 20,000 photos submitted worldwide.

Reuters UK Chief Photographer David Viggers described it as an impressive piece of art.

Sony Ericsson spearheaded the contest to encourage people to make use of their creativity and capture beautiful moments in life.
