Shanghai: Science as Art at Exhibition

Visitors touch an interactive work of facial makeups in Chinese Peking Opera during the 2007 Shanghai International Science and Art Exposition in Shanghai, east China, May 10, 2007. The exposition, attracting over 70 works from 11 countries and regions, opened on Thursday. 

Shanghai citizens are invited to experience the charisma involved in the blending of science and art, at the Shanghai International Science and Art Exhibition, in the Pudong Exhibition Center on Thursday.

With a slogan of "bringing science closer to the public, and merging art into our life," the exhibition aims to explore the relationship between science and art.

Artists from 11 countries, including China, the United States, Japan and Germany, will showcase their creations across seven differently-themed exhibition halls.

It will run through to May 15.
