Famous Chinese calligrapher Lu Yuan will on September 1 officially hand over 115 calligraphy pieces in Chinese script based on the Prison Diary of Vietnamese president Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) to central Thua Thien Hue province.

The provincial People's Committee plans to build a house at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in the province to preserve the pieces, which is scheduled to be complete next year, local newspaper New Hanoi reported Friday.

The Prison Diary is a collection of poems written between 1942 and 1943. Ho Chi Minh, the first president of Vietnam, led the country's struggle to defeat the French and the American.
