Free museums bid
Adjust font size:

Museums should scrap their admission fees, according to a proposal put to the CPPCC Shanghai Committee by Feng Maolun, secretary-general of the Shanghai Committee of Zhi Gong Party.

Feng said most museums in Shanghai charge admission fees. This not only runs against international practice but may also deter many potential visitors.

He said the city government should increase its investment in museums and gradually cut admission charges, especially for students and the elderly.
