The Greek artist Sophia Vari began on Saturday to exhibit seven bronze sculptures and 15 oil paintings at the Confucius Temple in Beijing, the first time for the Confucius Temple to exhibit a foreign artist's work, the Beijing Times reported.

At first, Vari was not convinced that the Confucius Temple was the best place for the exhibition. But after a visit to the temple she quickly changed her mind. She is looking forward to learning how visitors will react to her works in these unique surroundings.

Sophia Vari refuses any barriers or restrictions between the works of art and the visitors to the exhibition, saying that she welcomes art lovers to embrace the sculptures.

The exhibition will last until April 20.
