Once the beloved "Three Prominents," rock musicians Dou Wei, He Yong, and Zhang Chu want fans to know that the ensemble has not gone, nor will it ever.

The three rockers, aged 39 or 40, will together stage a concert on July 5 at the Shanghai Grand Stage, playing their best-known hits as well as some new pieces, according to news portal Sohu.com. Joining them will be female vocalist Jiang Xin.

The show comes 14 years after the three gave an astonishing performance at the Hong Kong Coliseum that resonates to this day. The three singers were then in their heydays, and although each had released albums of their own, they enjoyed a joint reputation as the "Three Prominents of Moyan," named after their shared record company.

Following the end of Moyan company in 2002, the three singers gradually faded from the scene, but now Beijing-based Tree Music is bringing them together again, having organized the Shanghai show and reportedly signed each of them.

In July last year, Tree Music had already assisted in a brief reunion of the three at an outdoor festival in northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The event drew thousands of fans from across the country.

Now, with the Shanghai show, fans are expecting a major comeback for the "Three Prominents."

Tickets for the show are on sale from 100 to 1,280 yuan (US$14-183).
