Morning Musume, a popular all-girl group from Japan, will hold their first concert on the Chinese mainland at the end of next month, portal website Sina reported on Thursday.

The show, which will be performed at the Shanghai Grand Stage on June 28, is part of an international music fair, which began in February to promote the 2010 Shanghai Expo.

The young girls were the first Japanese artists to be invited to the event, said the report.

From January of 1998, the renowned girl band has often changed members and formed subgroups.

The current Morning Musume has nine members, including two Chinese girls, Li Chun and Qian Lin.
