Taiwan pop singer Elva Hsiao released her new album "3-faced Elva" on Sunday.

The new offering is said to portray three different facets of this dancing queen. Sina.com reported that album's 12 pop songs convey three virtues Elva holds dear: sincerity, independence and courage.

"It's been really hard this year to record the new album. It makes me feel that I've made three albums because of the three different styles," Elva was quoted as saying.

Elva says she is "sincere" in her private life, "independent" when she performs on stage, and "courageous" in her approach to facing life's challenges.

"Every one has more than one character and face, and every one can be three-faced to pursue their hopes and dreams," Elva explained.

This is Elva's first album after returning to EMI Virgin Records this April. EMI Virgin Asia's vice- president Huang Weijing earlier declared that the company has a "3-Nos" strategy for Elva's new album in Taiwan - no self-buying of albums by the company, no refund, and no comparison with other singers.

Starting Monday, Elva will be busy with a six-day promotion drive in Shanghai.
