An exhibition featuring visual arts by masters from Hong Kong and Macao opened in Beijing on Monday.

Over 70 paintings, photographs and sculptures provide Beijing citizens with insights into how art thrives in the two cities.

The exhibition also kicked off a festival aiming to further link the cities with the mainland in terms of art and culture.

The festival includes three stage performances in addition to the exhibition.

The exhibition, held in the Beijing World Art Museum, will run through June 29.
