Winners revealed at MTV Asia Awards

The MTV Asia Awards, the most prestigious music awards in Asia, crowned music figures from China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and the Philippines on Saturday night.

Held in Malaysia this biannual event included international music heavyweights such as Irish band The Script, South Korean band Super Junior and Singaporean music group The Electrico.

Many familiar faces were recognized for their music achievements, the news web portal sina.com.cn reported.

Li Yuchun, the pop star born from the Super Girl singing competition, who once graced the cover of Time Magazine, is once again in the spotlight after being voted China's Favorite Artist.

Awards for Favorite Artists from Singapore, Malaysia and Korea went to Stefanie Sun, Nicholas Teo and Super Junior.

American rock band Linkin Park were voted Asia's Favorite International Artist.

Apart from the awards ceremony itself, the red carpet show and guest performances by artists from around the world were also highlights, sina.com.cn said.
