Lang Lang, ambassador for piano competition

Well-known Chinese pianist Lang Lang, public ambassador of the 2008 Piano and Violin Competition held by CCTV, attended a news conference in Beijing Monday, Xinhua News Agency reported.

During his appearance, he played Liebestraum No 3 composed by Hungarian musician Franz Liszt.

The competition is divided into two groups: teenagers for those under 17, and adults for those over 18 years of age. The finals will be held in December this year in Beijing.

The winners of the competition will be given a chance to study in the conservatory of music and perform at the Spring Festival Gala.
