NY film fest stocked with Cannes titles
Adjust font size:

New movies from directors Clint Eastwood, Darren Aronofsky and Steven Soderbergh highlight the lineup of the 46th New York Film Festival, which begins September 26.

Seventeen of the 28 foreign-language-heavy titles appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in May, including Soderbergh's four-hour-plus Spanish-language biopic "Che" and Eastwood's "Changeling," which stars Angelina Jolie.

French Palme d'Or winner "The Class" was previously announced as the festival's opening selection.

Eastwood's "Changeling," an Oscar-hyped kidnap thriller, will screen in the prestigious Centerpiece spot on October 4.

Aronofsky's Mickey Rourke drama "The Wrestler," which the director expects will make its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on September 5, will close New York on October 12. All screenings will be held at the Ziegfeld Theatre.

Universal will release "Changeling" domestically on October 24, and Sony Pictures Classics "The Class" on December 12.
