One day before Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States, a host of Hollywood celebrities Monday made pledges of service to the nation in honor of the incoming president on the popular social networking website MySpace.

The celebrities, mostly actors and actresses, revealed their plans to take actions for the change of the United States motivated by Obama's presidential campaign in short video clips directed by actresses Demi Moore.

The videos convey personal, touching and humorous ways in which the entertainment industry plans to give back.

"We are honored to be working with MySpace to rally the entertainment industry to answer President-elect Barack Obama's call to service," said Ashton Kutcher, Moore's husband.

"The Presidential Pledge is a platform for people across the nation and throughout the world to make a first person commitment of service to our new president, articulating a specific intent or action to become an agent of positive change," he said.

Chris DeWolfe, CEO and co-founder of MySpace, said that Ashton and Demi's commitment is truly inspiring as are the moving pledges that cultural icons and everyday Americans will deliver to support President Obama.

Celebrities featured on the Presidential Pledge videos include Aaron Eckhart, Ashlee Simpson, Dakota Fanning, Eva Mendes and Laura Linney. Others include Lucy Liu, Marissa Tomei, Tobey Maguire and some surprise celebrities sharing their pledges.

Members of the public are also encouraged to add their own pledges on MySpace.
