The stormy marriage of Taiwan singer-actress Annie Yineng Jing and talk-show host Harlem Yu Chengqing has finally come to an end.

Yineng's company, Huayi Brothers Group, issued a statement on the website Sina.com on Friday that the actress and her husband had signed a divorce agreement to end their nine-year marriage.

Yineng also said she wished to resume peaceful relations with family members after the settlement and that both she and her ex-husband would focus on their careers.

Yu confirmed the information in a follow-up statement on March 20, but could not be reached for further comment, according to the article on Sina.com.

Neither Yineng nor Yu mentioned in their statements about the divorce settlement or who would have custody of their seven-year-old son, little Harry. But a source close to the couple was quoted as saying just before the divorce that Yu would get custody, while Yineng would have visitation rights.

It had been long rumored that the marriage was on the rocks after Yineng was spotted walking hand-in-hand with actor Victor Huang Weide last October in Beijing. Yineng became the target of public criticism after photos of the couple appeared on the Internet.

Many fans have expressed their sympathy for Yu, a popular Taiwan talk show host and singer, who has maintained a low profile.
