Celtic Legends

If the Irish tap dance in this year's CCTV New Year Gala whet the appetite of Chinese audiences for this dance form, here is a chance to satisfy it when Celtic Legends takes to the Poly Theater stage later this month.

Celtic Legends was born in Connermara, Ireland. Though the group started their world tour only in 2002, they have become a big success, drawing an audience of more than 1 million.

Their Beijing show, accompanied by live bands featuring pipes, violins, whistles and accordions, promises to be an evening of passion and rhythm.

Irish performers singing on stage are another novelty of the Celtic Legends, which is regarded as the most Irish group in the world.

The members of Celtic Legends started their dance training at the age of 5 and were all selected when they were young.

They were taught and trained in an environment of traditional Irish music and dance, so their show is not only about tap dance but also about Irish culture.

Eric Dessauvages, producer of the show, says that their aim is to recreate the ambience of Ireland.

If you have listened to and liked the music of The Corrs, The Cranberries or U2, why not take this chance to learn more about their country of origin?

After Beijing, the group will also go to Shanghai, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Suzhou and Ningbo.
