The Museum of China's Folk Art Treasure will open its second annual art festival on August 16 and will run for two months. It will showcase the treasure of China's folk art.

The exhibition will show the best of China's folk art and crafts. It will display the distinctive art of the Tibetan Buddhists. Among them are 8 pieces of Tangka collected by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dyasnty.

It will present the jade ware of the famous Hongshan culture, one of the most important in the prehistory of northern China. The exhibits have been collected from overseas for more than 80 years by three generations of 106 Taiwan collectors.

It will also showcase the masterpieces of China's most famous folk artists, including the most renowned artists from the capital, Beijing. The show will also feature a forum which will be focused on the development of China's folk art and crafts.

Director Liu Siguang said, "The exhibition is our way to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. We've been making an effort to showcase the treasures of China's folk art. We hope the festival and the museum will become an international brand and be a window for people from around the world to know China's rich culture. "

The Museum of China's Folk Art Treasure is located near the northern gate of the Temple of Heaven. Since it opened last July, more than four hundred thousand people have visited the museum. The official website of the museum has been visited online more than five-hundred thousand times. The museum has become an important platform to showcase the treasures of China's folk arts.
