Taiwan singer Stanley Huang will star in film "Du Lala's Promotion" (Du La La Sheng Zhi Ji in Chinese), which is to be directed by Chinese mainland actress-director Xu Jinglei, reports Sina.com.

The director chose Stanley from many shortlisted actors including Chinese mainland actors Sun Honglei and Li Yapeng to star as Wang Wei, Du Lala's boyfriend in the film. Xu said she was convinced Stanley is competent for the role after she saw his roles in "Modern Republic" and "Twenty Something Taipei".

The director also revealed on July 30 that more romantic scenes will be added to the film to make Stanley a perfect partner for Du Lala.

The female lead role, Du Lala, will be taken on by Xu herself, who beat actresses Li Bingbing, Zhao Wei, Karen Mok and Vivian Hsu as "the best Du Lala" in an internet vote. The producer Zhao Yibai also said Xu is just "as simple and stubborn as Du".

The film is based on a namesake novel written by Li Ke, an experienced manager in an international company. It centers on the working life of office lady Du Lala, who makes her way in a global top 500 corporation from a college graduate to a senior manager.
