The climate change project, aiming to lower the CO2 emission by planting millions of sea-buckthorn trees in the northwestern part of China, kicks off on the same day. For 5 yuan (US$ 0.73), one can adopt a tree and donate the plant to farmers in the less developed regions of China.

According to scientists, one tree can absorb up to 1.66 kg of CO2 in one year and Li Bingbing donated 10,000 yuan to the project to eliminate the CO2 that is produced by her taking airplanes in 2009.
