Ode to Taishan Mountain

Jinan Qianwei Performing Arts Company of the People's Liberation Army will present a gala show featuring traditional Chinese orchestra music, and folk dances and singers, in addition to motion pictures portraying the lifestyles and beautiful scenes surrounding Taishan, a holy mountain in Shandong province.

The orchestra, which includes about 70 musicians who play traditional Chinese instruments, such as the erhu, dizi, xun and suona, will perform symphonic works composed by Zhao Jiping, Zhang Qianyi and Liu Wenjin.

The concert also features a 60-member choir and 40 folk dancers performing numbers from the Taishan area in Shandong province. The motion pictures will play on a 15-m-long, 5-m-wide LED screen.
