Nanjing Massacre Scenes Available on Net

To commemorate the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in China, the website www.china1937.com recently completed a project to bring a photographic album of 480 photographs under the title of "Nanjing Massacre-Testimony in Historical Photos" onto Internet. This provides an important forum for the international community to learn more about the Japanese invasion of China in the 1930s.

"The project is meant to remind the whole world of the great calamity, which was being sedulously forgotten or ignored by certain parties. It will be a powerful counterattack against those elements who seek to deny or cover up the historical fact of the Nanjing Massacre," the site's operator said.

The publisher of the album Zhu Zuolin gave much support to the project, which was a team effort involving many people working for the website.

One of them, Wu Zukang, said Chinese do not intend to disseminate hatred by reviving historical events, nor were they hoping that by retelling the story of the Nanjing massacre they could force those with bloody hands to repent or plead guilty after all this time.

"However, those who committed these monstrous crimes have suddenly become forgetful and highly sensitive to criticism. Once someone talks about this phase of history, they try to cover it up or eliminate it from everyone's mind. So people must remain alert."
