First Computerized Book Distributor Founded

A book distribution enterprise with completely computerized operations, the first of its kind in China, was set up Thursday in Shanghai.

The company, jointly founded by the Shanghai Century Publishing Group and a Taiwan cultural logistics company, aims at cutting publishing costs, and consequently the prices of books.

All operation processes of the company, such as information checking, trading and delivery, will be completely handled by computers, according to sources at the company.
