Yangzhou Falun Gong Follower Turns Over New Leaf

Xie Dunan, a 52-year-old official of Auditing Bureau of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, used to be die-hard Falun Gong follower.

But now she has turned over a new leaf with the help of law enforcers at the Zhenjiang Reform-through-Labor Center.

Six years ago, Xie began to practice Falun Gong and became increasingly infatuated with it. In July of 1999, she plotted an open letter to persuade more people to follow Falun Gong. As she tried to publicize the letter by post and via Internet with other Falun Gong followers, their act was stopped by local police.

In 2000, Xie Dunan again organized some Falun Gong followers to charter a bus to Beijing in an attempt to distribute printing materials preaching people to believe in Falun Gong. This time Xie was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison for organizing anti-government activities.

Xie still stubbornly believed in Falun Gong even in prison, rejecting all persuasions by law enforcers to denounce Falun Gong. But her family members, colleagues, friends and others who had abandoned their belief in Falun Gong regularly visited her, bringing her fruit, books and having heart-to-heart talks with her.

As Xie calmed down and began to read books on science and literature, she was shocked at hearing the news of several Falung Gong followers setting themselves on fire in Tian'anmen Square in January of 2001.

Xie came to realize the true nature of Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong Cult, who refused to recognize those followers setting themselves on fire.

Then,Xie awakened and was eager to read every article exposing the deceptive essence of Falun Gong Cult. Moreover, she also wrote many articles about her self-reflection.

People caring about Xie is happy to see Xie's awakening. Moreover, they are also happy to see that 30-plus Falun Gong followers have turned over a new leaf with the help of Xie.
