China, the Philippines to Enhance Relations
China hopes to develop a long-term stable friendship with the Philippines on the basis of good-neighborly cooperation as well as mutual trust and mutual benefit, Chinese President Jiang Zemin said Tuesday afternoon when meeting visiting Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.


"9.11 Incident" Impact on Chinese Economy Revealed
The People's Bank of China, the nation's central bank, published on October 29 the 2001 third-quarter report on the implementation of monetary policy, which for the first time revealed in detail the possible impact of the "9.11 Incident" on Chinese economy.


Further Development Expected in Sino-German Relations
Starting from October 31, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will pay a visit to China. Germany, the largest country among the European Union countries, is also the largest trade partner of China in Europe. Little Expected on China-Japan Trade Row Talks
China and Japan are set for talks on their trade row over farm produce in Beijing tomorrow (November 1), according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC).
