Beijing Airport Vows to Improve Services

Beijing's Capital International Airport has vowed to greatly improve its services which passengers often complain about.

Li Peiying, president of the Capital International Airport Co. Ltd., said that effective measures would be taken to lift services up to the international standards within three years.

According to him, the airport is working to ensure that more than 98 percent of flights will keep to their schedules, and the boarding procedures will be completed within five minutes for passengers of first- and business-class cabins and 20 minutes for passengers of economy-class seats.

He also promised that the passengers will be able to get their first piece of luggage within 12 minutes after the arrival of a flight, and all the luggage will be handled within 40 minutes.

In addition, the airport will try to optimize the flow of passengers, increase guiding facilities and signs, and improve the shopping environment as well as communications services, Li said.
