China's First Nuclear Plant Begins to Issue Regular Environmental Monitoring Results

China's first built nuclear power plant has started to issue regular environmental monitoring results. According to the first report issued in mid-August by the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant in east China's Zhejiang Province, environmental condition during the second season of this year is normal.

Gu Peilong, an official in charge of the Zhejiang Environmental Monitoring Station on Radiation, said the results would be published in a local newspaper.

Ecological condition around the nuclear power plant will probably be issued annually as well, according to Gu.

Five monitors have been erected within 2.5 kilometers of the plant to carry out around-the-clock radiation monitoring.
