Steam Turbine for Nuclear Power Plant

An engineering company in Harbin, capital city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province has manufactured a 650-megawatt steam turbine for the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant, the first nuclear power station in China.

The turbine, to be installed in the Qinshan plant in east China's Zhejiang Province, is the largest so far made by Chinese engineers, experts said.

The turbine was manufactured by the Harbin Steam Turbine Co. Ltd, and it passed appraisal by a team of experts at the company on August 10.

The state-owned company is a major power equipment producer in China.
