President Jiang Zemin met with New Zealand's Governor-General Michael Hardie Boys on the afternoon of November 30.

Prior to the meeting, President Jiang presided over a welcoming ceremony in honor of the Governor-General, who arrived here morning on a seven-day state visit to China as a guest of President Jiang.

The visit, the first ever state visit to China by a governor-general of New Zealand, reciprocates the visit by President Jiang to New Zealand in September last year.
