Sino-German Environment Conference Starts

Sponsored by the two governments, the conference were attended by some 900 experts and enterprise representatives from the two countries, discussing resource protection and utilization, environmental protection and pollution control and urban landscaping, as well as cooperation in these areas.

The two-day conference aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in these fields between China and Germany and elaborate the development strategy on sustained economic growth.

The Chinese government regards environmental protection as an important sector in the world's most populous country.

It has adopted a series of well-advised policies and regulations on environmental protection over the past decade, gradually shifting pollution control to prevention.
