First Gold Exchange to Be Founded in Shanghai

Substantive measures will be taken this year to open China's gold market A relevant official of Shanghai disclosed recently that the municipality will try its best to establish China's first gold exchange this year.

According to a report of China Securities, the official said, in light of the general trend in which China will accelerate the pace of opening its gold market, Shanghai will try its level best to set up the State-level gold exchange within this year. Commercial banks, gold production enterprises and gold ornaments processing and marketing businesses will participate in the operation of the gold exchange which will regulate its operation in line with the common operating method used by other gold exchanges in the world.
