China Donates Library to Cambodia

President of the Cambodia's Senate Samdech Chea Sim and Chinese Ambassador Ning Fukui laid the foundation stone of the library and office buildings yesterday morning in Phnom Penh in the Chamcar Mon compound of the Senate.

The construction of the Senate library and three office buildings, donated by the Chinese Government and scheduled to be completed within 9 months, will cost 16.4 million yuan (US$2 million).

At the ceremony for the construction of the library and office building, the Chinese ambassador said the donation was a new signal of the friendly co-operation between the two countries.

He wished that the Senate, under the leadership of President Chea Sim, would make greater achievements in the restoration and reconstruction of economy in the country.
