Antiques, Artworks to Be Displayed in Beijing

Over 800 antiques and artworks from 19 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities will be on public display in Beijing later this month.

People will have the chance to see the antiques and artworks at the third Beijing China Antique and Artwork Fair slated for October 12-15.

The organizing committee said today it will set up 23 exhibition blocks featuring a Cultural Revolution collection, antique clocks and watches, antique carpets, artistic stones and furniture of Ming (138-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

Other activities are also to be staged during the fair, including a forum on China's antique market, a performance of Chinese ancient costumes, lectures on authentication and appreciation of cultural relics, a Chinese painting and calligraphy auction and a tea ceremony.
