UN, China Open Training Class on Children's Rights

A training class began Tuesday in Lanzhou City of northwest China's Gansu Province to study United Nation's Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The class was jointly organized by the All-China Women's Federation and United Nations Children's Fund.

Some 38 delegates from Chinese women and children organizations and schools attended the week-long training courses on the causes, basic principle and background of the convention.

The purpose of the courses is to help Chinese parents understand and apply the guideline and principle in their daily life and build up a sound family environment for the children.

The All-China Women's Federation has opened some 15 training classes in China under support from the Fund. It is the first time that China organize the class in its western region.
