Easy Boarding Service Provided in China's Airport

A easy-boarding service club, set up by Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, has pledged to give its members VIP treatment, along with fast considerate, attentive, and individualized service.

The service was provided in accordance with rapid development of the airport, one of the three show-window airports in China, including Beijing and Shanghai airports, an airport official said.

"It's a breakthrough in China's airport service, and will bring changes to the previous service that was less considerate and slow," he said.

The booming economy in the local and surrounding areas increased the airport's passenger volume to 6 million a year, with business travelers making up the overwhelming increase. They usually have an increasing demand for VIP service and facilities for business activities, according to a recent survey.

The new airport in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, will be completed in 2002. It will handle more transfer passengers who require fast, convenient and comfortable service.

The easy boarding service meets those requirements, serving those often taking business and official travel by air. The club first issued 2,000 membership cards for individuals or companies, charging 1,380 (US$ 166) yuan and 8,800 yuan (US$ 1,060) a year respectively.
