Guangdong, Macao and Hong Kong jointly set up tourism website

The first website devoted to tourism resources in south China's Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macao opened in Shanghai Wednesday.

The website, www.pearlriverdelta.org, was jointly developed by official tourism departments in Guangdong province, Macao and Hong Kong.

The bilingual website, the first of its kind in the region, offers such information as local conditions and customs, tourist attractions and travel routes designed with pictures.

Zhen Tongyang, director of the Guangdong Tourism Bureau, said the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region is the only tourist destination that has two social systems and lifestyles for areas with similar historic, geographic and humanitarian background.

The three areas first set up the joint Pearl River tourism promotion organization in December 1993.
