Three Gorges International Tourism Festival Closes

The one-month long Yangtze River Three Gorges International Tourism Festival closed Monday in Yichang of Hubei Province, central China.

During the festival, some one million domestic and overseas tourists from 23 countries and regions worldwide visited Yichang, the nearest city to the site of the world's biggest water control project -- the Three Gorges Dam Project at the middle reaches of the Yangtze.

Around 62 tourism activities were held including a tour of the Three Gorges, tour to the construction site of the Three Gorges water control project, tour to historical sites, tour to villages of ethnic minority people and dragon boat racing.

During the same period, business people at home and abroad signed 53 investment projects worth five billion yuan.
