China's first Family Culture and Art Festival opened Sunday night in Dongguan City of Guangdong Province.
Selected families across the country performed programs including songs, dancing and gymnastics at the opening ceremony of the festival.
During the 23-day festival, calligraphy, drawing, photography and invention exhibitions, family sports meetings, gardening shows will be held.
The festival is sponsored by the All-China Women's Federation, the Ministry of Culture and the China Central Television to promote healthy and colorful family activities.
