California, Xinjiang to Strengthen Agricultural Cooperation

The State of California in the United States and northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are to strengthen cooperation in agriculture.

A delegation from the state government of California is now visiting Xinjiang to investigate the status of local agriculture.

California, an important producer of tomato, grape, and cotton, is quite similar with Xinjiang in its natural environment, crop farming, and farm products processing.

Zhang Zhou, vice-chairman of Xinjiang, said that he hopes the two sides will strengthen exchange and cooperation in crop varieties, technology, management, and marketing.

Members of the delegation visited some local enterprises and were interested in tomato production in Xinjiang.
