Qinghai Decides to Build Tourist Highways

News from the transportation department of Qinghai Province in northwest China says that in order to promote the development of the province's tourist resources, Qinghai has decided to invest 500 million yuan in building five tourist highroads.

Currently, the early preparatory work has been completed and construction will soon be started. Reports say that the five highroads are: the one running from Lijiaxia Hydropower Station area on the upper reaches of the Yellow River to the State-level Kanbula Forest Park; the one from Qingshui Township to the area of Mengda Nature Reserve; the Qinghai Lake-rim road; the one in the Beishan Forest Park of Tu Autonomous County of Huzhu; and the last one at the fountainhead of the Yellow River.

According to people from the tourism industry, the five highroads, when completed, will immensely improve the environment of Qinghai Province and effectively promote the opening and development process of the inland province.
