Brain Tumor Removed for 4-Month-Old Girl

Chinese doctors have successfully removed a large brain tumor from a four-month-old girl.

Doctors discovered an egg-size tumor at the back part of the brain when she was born. The tumor became bigger and bigger as the girl grew up.

The girl's parents went to a hospital affiliated with Shanghai No. 2 Medical Science University, seeking medical care for their child.

Doctors examined the girl, finding that an operation could result in massive bleeding and lead to sequela.

They worked out a meticulous operation plan. During the operation, they bypassed dangerous areas and removed the tumor.

The girl, from the neighboring province of Zhejiang, has left the hospital and is reportedly doing fine.
