Scenic Spot Builds Clean Toilets

Some 500 newly built top-of-line toilets at various scenic spots in Guilin, one of China's most famous tourist attractions, will be opened to visitors for free beginning from October 1, China's National Day.

Sources with the local government said they launched a "clean toilet" campaign in April in an effort to improve the city's image and provide better services to visitors from home and overseas.

In Guilin and a number of other famous Chinese tourist attractions, dirty toilets have long been the source of numerous complaints from visitors.
