More People, Livestock Confirmed Dead in Blizzard

Twenty seven people have been confirmed dead and 14 missing after a blizzard hit Xilin Gol League, an area in the central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China, a week ago, according to the latest information from the local government.

At least 30,000 heads of cattle were killed and about 10,000 heads of the cattle are missing. The number of dying cattle is believed to be on the increase due to the ongoing snow and insufficiency of fodder.

The local governments of cities and banners in the area have been fully mobilized to aid victims at the snow storm-affected areas. The transportation of food, clothing, fuel and fodder are on the way.
