China set up its first software college Friday in this coastal city of northeast Liaoning Province.

The Dalian Dongruan Information Technology College, a branch of the Northeast China University, will feature education professionals for the country's information technology (IT) industry.

Located at the Dalian Software Zone, the college was jointly funded by the Dongruan Group Corporation, the Northeast China University and Dalian Software Zone.

The college will open various IT majors such as computers and Internet for bachelor and master degree students.
