Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers are tentatively scheduled to meet on April 30 for an informal retreat, the government said Thursday.

The ministerial meeting was originally scheduled for mid-April.

"The ASEAN foreign minister informal retreat will take place tentatively on 30 April," it said in a statement.

Thailand's Foreign Minister Surakiart Sathirathai is also to make an official visit to Yangon on the two days preceding the ASEAN meeting, he confirmed.

Thailand's Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has said he will visit Myanmar soon, but that a date for the trip has not yet been set.
