Surf Tibet on the Web

Starting on Wednesday, Internet surfers can access the Tibetan edition of the largest website devoted to information on the Tibet Autonomous Region, "the roof of the world", in southwest China.

The website, www.tibetinfor.com., offers a comprehensive view of Tibet, including the latest news events, information on traveling, culture and customs, business services, Tibetan medicine and pictures and videos of the plateau.

With a simple click of the mouse, Tibetan music will accompany Internet surfers throughout their tour.

The Tibetan edition has over 100 megabytes of information and some 3,000 pictures. All its editors are Tibetan-speaking professionals who aim to present a true Tibet to the world, particularly to Tibetan descendants living overseas, according to the owner of the website, the Wuzhou Pan-China Networking and Information Co. Ltd.

The Chinese edition of the website was launched in May last year, followed by the English version at the beginning of this year. Over 40,000 surfers visit the website daily.
