Premiere of Giant Panda Movie

A science and education film featuring the giant panda saw its premier in the southeastern coastal city of Fuzhou on Sept.24.

The 32-minute film, entitled "The Last Panda", took ten years to make.

The aim is to introduce the life of the endangered species and arouse better public awareness for the protection of the animal.

Through this film, people can look at the panda's habitats, the challenges it faces, and efforts by Chinese scientists to protect the precious animal.

It's estimated that there are only about 1,000 giant pandas in limited wild habitats in China.

Scenes from the film include a mother panda giving birth to a baby panda.

The Giant Panda is also dubbed a "National Treasure of China".
