Leukemia Sufferer Recovers after Transplanting Marrow Donated by Brother

Liu Kezhi (L) and his blood brother Li Qi hug each other for the first time in 30 years in a prison in Xinxiang City of central China's Henan Province on December 05, 2001.

Liu Kezhi was in urgent need of bone marrow transplant after being hit by leukemia three months ago, and he failed to find match types among all his 7 brothers and sisters. Under the despair and depression, his family tried to find his younger brother who was given to others 30 years ago. Finally, Li Qi, who served a sentence in Xinxiang, was proved to be Liu Kezhi's blood brother. Li decided to donate bone marrow to his brother immediately hearing the news and the doctor extracted his marrow on September 4, 2001.

After receiving the marrow transplant operation, Liu Kezhi recovers gradually.
