China to Investigate Polyvinyl Chloride Imports

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) will launch on Friday an anti-dumping investigation into polyvinyl chloride imports from the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Taiwan Province.

MOFTEC will decide whether dumping took place and if so to what extent in keeping with China's regulations on anti-dumping.

In the meantime, the State Economic and Trade Commission will investigate any damage done to China's industries from the alleged dumping.

According to MOFTEC sources, the dumping case was reported by relevant companies in northern and eastern China representing China's manufacturers of polyvinyl chloride, an important material for making plastic pipes and other products.
