World's First Abnormal Human Chromosome Found in Xinjiang

A medical report from northwest China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region on human abnormal chromosome has recently been proved as the first core of such chromosome in the world. 

Li Luxia, a laboratory researcher of medical science department under the Shihezi University in Xinjiang, discovered the core last September.According to Li, while conducting chromosome test on a couple, the number 5 and 9 chromosome of the male were found abnormal.The report on the abnormal chromosome was proved the first of its kind in the world by two leading medical scientists at the State Key Genetics Laboratory in Hubei Medical University. 

The discovery will provide valuable clues for study on genetics and human gene.
